The connections do not hold. When you lift the pole it comes apart. Shouldn’t have ordered the cheap ones!

Bargain poles– at $12 each ($24/pair) when I ordered, these are a pretty good deal. Better than a stick! Much better, really. While they aren’t fancy or light or particularly well-designed or made, they are fairly priced and will do the job. You could spend 2x the money for something a bit nicer (Trekology, for example) or 8x the price for carbon fiber poles (Leki) but for a casual hiker/walker or someone wanting to try out poles these are both sufficient and cheap.The package is complete: a light carrying bag includes two collapsible poles and a selection of tips including baskets, feet, and posts. These are simple to change. The design of the poles is a bit different from some, in that they aren’t shock-corded so much as linked together; if you just flop them open they will…flop. You have to manually assemble them and then extend the second-highest section past a spring-loaded retaining button to make them rigid. The internal cable this depends on ends in a plastic plug, which looks like the weak point in the design (and the most likely point of failure). Once assembled, though, they feel solid enough.These are not fancy by any measure: basic aluminum tubes, the parts are not that well machined, and while they supported my weight adequately they don’t inspire a lot of confidence. I would not use these “trekking” on any serious journey as a result, but for light hiking/walking they will be fine. Nicer poles have cork grips, weigh less, and have better assembly mechanisms. But they cost more too.Recommended for casual use or anyone looking to “try out” trekking poles for the first time.

Strongly made, but…
These feel well made as in durable metal. The string though, may or may not hold up well. It comes with various options too. However, I couldn’t get it all to lock where the pieces don’t come apart. It does not come with directions and I haven’t used poles like these before. Unfortunately, it looks like it has potential, but it is unusable as is. Also note that it only comes with one carrying bag but it is sufficient in size.
