Great walking stick for travel but be aware–TSA may confiscate!
I have a lot of health issues and use a walking stick when I am walking on anything other than pavement because I am at risk of falling. I bought this for travel and it is awesome, folds small enough to fit in a personal item, and is light and stable if you follow the video instructions posted by another user to assemble it. I brought it on a trip recently and had no problems outbound, but on the way home I was pulled aside by TSA, who informed me it is illegal to have a walking stick in your carry on luggage and they confiscated it (google “TSA walking stick” and you will see–Amazon won’t let me post the link). As far as I can tell, a walking stick is deemed “medically necessary” if you are USING it when you go through security (and place it through the scanner directly) but if it is IN your carry on luggage, then you run the risk of a TSA agent who likes rules taking it away. In my case it is actually medically necessary, I was just looking for travel convenience, but this guy wasn’t having it because I don’t look overtly sick. Planning to buy another (because it is that good), may get a doctor’s note, and will always have it OUT of my luggage through security.

Great for travel and can take a reasonable beating
I took this on a moderately tough 4-day hiking trip, here’s what I found.First, note this is ONE pole, not a set of two.PROS:- Collapses small enough to fit in any carry-on size luggage, backpack, or even a larger purse.- The 3 pieces are yoked together and reassemble with absolutely minimal effort- No issues getting this through security in my carry-on in 3 different countries.- Incredibly lightweight. Noticibly lighter than my other light telescoping poles (which won’t fit in my carry-on).- Reliably supported as much weight as I wanted to put on it, and at any angle over uneven terrainCONS:- Couldn’t get the basket or rubber stopper to attach with any level of integrity and lost both on a single (rocky) hike.- If it gets wedged between rocks and you try to yank it out, the bottom part will sometimes detach instead of coming loose and you need to stop and free it.- Shortest setting is good for someone at or taller than about 5 feet. Might be too long for younger kids.Overall, I think the (also inexpensive) telescoping poles I have are higher quality, but for trip with significant air travel involved, this pole did the trick, and I recommend it if you want to carry a pole or walking stick with you and not worry about losing it if your checked luggage doesn’t make it.

Great for travel!
Took this to go hiking in the Rockies. Great for air travel carry on, easy to assemble, and solid! Highly recommend.

Nice pole!
This pole was purchased to take with me on a plane so that I had a light weight yet sturdy pole to use. I was very dependent on it due to hip injury and a still pretty new knee. It is easy to assemble or disassemble. I find it to be easy to adjust the height as well. I am about 5’5″ and was perfect height for me. It is well made and I was glad to have it to walk with. Recommend it without any doubts

Perfect for walking through Pompei
Bought two of these–one for me, one for my husband–ahead of a trip to Italy. We used them in Pompei. SO glad we had them, as they helped immensely, providing stability while walking on the rocky, uneven roads and helping us get up and down the steep curbs in that remarkable place. Felt sturdy and reliable. They folded up neatly into a carrying case and went into a backpack–their weight barely noticeable. We will use them for all hikes and travel going forward.

Mostly good, a few cons.
Really like this walking stick; super light, ergonomic to hold and it does intuitively snap together easily. Now the con, the joints fight securely but as something sectional that’s is held together by small bungees it pops apart easily enough as well. This would be a concern if say you are relying for ultra stable support and it hits a crag in the ground. It would come undone in that cause and might cause a fall. It’s a good handy stick for occasional support (I use it to ward off small critters and rattlers while hiking) and to test the stability of the path I’m on. Foreseeably it will need parts to be replaced as mine has already had a malfunction in the plastic connecting joints. Still good value for the ease of use and weight.
