Great Backpack AND they support public lands!
I got this for some hikes where I need a little more stuff than I usually carry with me. It is nicer than my usual backpacks. This is a great backpack, and Osprey supports public lands.

The first Osprey bag that wasn’t perfect
This sportlite 30L pack is well made and a good size. The materials are obviously high quality because it’s an Osprey bag and they are all nice. I feel like this bag missed the mark for me because of the shoulder straps. The straps just felt too thin and not padded enough for a 30L pack. The hip belt feels on par with how you’d expect it to be but the straps feel less durable than some of my smaller day packs. Even after messing with the load lifters and adjusting everything it just didn’t feel comfortable. Not all bags fit all bodies and that’s okay. The materials the bag is made with are quite durable and have held up after a few extended hikes. The layout of the compartments and hydration pack support work well. I like that the hip belt has a little quick access zipper pocket. Chap stick pocket anyone? The mesh back keeps the bag off of your back and lets your back breathe when you’re on extended hikes. Like all good hiking bags you get what you pay for and this is a good quality bag so it’s still a good value for the price.

I like the Talon better
This is a good mid size pack. Compared to the 22L Hikelite or Talon 26, it comes in 3rd for me. The load seems to settle low and the comfort just isn’t there compared to other Osprey packs. It is extremely well made and looks great but it is almost too minimalist. That said, it is super lightweight and will outperform most other day packs out there. It’s a decent pack if you aren’t in and out of it a lot. If you are a digger like me, the compression straps get a bit annoying and the lack of exterior stash points will get old.

Lightweight, comfortable daypack with smart design
Love Osprety and this is a really nice lightweight hiking backpack that works well for day trips or everyday use. It’s comfortable to wear, even when packed for a longer outing, and doesn’t feel bulky or overbuilt. The size is just right for carrying the basics without encouraging overpacking. The layout is simple but functional, with enough pockets to stay organized without being complicated. It’s easy to grab what you need, and it transitions well from hiking to general travel or daily use. Overall, a solid, well-designed daypack that does exactly what it’s meant to do. Great option if you want something lightweight and versatile without a lot of extra features.

Perfect day pack. Have worn on a couple 10k hikes and really happy with this pack. Pack is comfortable with great shoulder and hip pads that take weight off shoulders. Seemed a bit small at first but actually holds a lot. Off to try it out more on the West Highland Way!
